Tools You Can Use In Your Classroom!

There are many tools available for teachers to use when planning your lessons. With the technology always growing, you, as a teacher, will want to include technology in the classroom. So, here are some tools that I have learned about that might help you create some really interesting lesson plans. There are four tools that I think every teacher should know about. There is inspiration, kidspiration, diigo and flickr. These four tools are collaboration tools. They help people work together, they have a common goal, they are used for different jobs, and they are very effective tools. Kidspiration and inspiration are easy ways for children to learn. As a teacher, you can create a lesson by using these tools and then you can have your students operate this tool themselves. They learn by doing this, and it is really quick and easy to make.

They are diigo and flickr. If you want to get a lot of information and you need to bookmark a lot of websites, diigo is the thing to use. It organizes all the websites that you bookmark and it is easy to gather your information fast. Then, flickr is a very nice website that you can use to find pictures that have the creative common use, so now you don't have to worry about plagerizing, because they have that all on this website already. These tools are very helpful and if you visit the websites, you can learn a lot more about them.

What Google Can Do For You!

Have you realized how much technology has changed within the last 10 years? I didn't know at all until I started taking this class. We use Google all the time. I didn't know that Google has all these things attatched in it. For instance, Google has everything a computer has, but on one website. It saves right away and you can access it from any computer. All you need to know is your username and your password. You can also upload any document, powerpoint or picture from your computer to have it on your Google account. I love google and you can do so many things with it. For instance, you can create surverys for your students to take, you can have your students create their papers or powerpoints on here, so you have all of them together when you grade. There is just so much to Google and I suggest everyone to explore more on it.  Student Survey is a link to a survey that I have made for my students that discusses our thematic unit. I did this all by exploring some of the Google applications.

Digital Natives!!

Has anyone ever heard of a digital native? I read in this article Digital Native; Digital Immigrants by Marc Prensky what a digital native is. A digital native is someone that has the digital language of computers, video games and the Internet. I know that when I was asked this question, I had no idea what it was at all. However, once I have found out what this meant, I have been using this term a lot and I see it everywhere. This is one thing that in a couple of years, everyone will be doing this. For instance, when we were in class, we saw a picture that is a prime example of a digital native. She is listening to her Ipod, while on the computer, and she is texting on her cellphone. This is how our society is becoming and we, as teachers, need to incorporate more computers and hands on activities in the classroom, like they do at home, because that is what and how they speak. They will get bored with the normal hand writing and booking things. Students need to be aware of what resources are around them and they have to explore the Internet and find our more things that are out there. Next time you get out of your house, look around you and see what is going on. Maybe something will pop in your head that you can incorporate in the classroom.

Learning Technology Through Others

When I was exploring the web, I came across this website, FutureLab. This is a website many teachers and parents could use to benefit their lives when it comes to technology. This website is about a team of workers that go to different schools and teach young people how to use new technology approaches when learning. This will help students and teachers with the essential skills and attitudes for life. By taking in these experiences, students and teachers will learn different attitudes about life and will learn how to work in the 21st century. FutureLab also offers products, services, and resources underpinned by their highly-regarded research programmers. They also hold events that help us understand how young students and people learn by studying the brain. They hold events that focus on ensuring that educational structures that are built for a purpose, and they add new ways to add education in the classroom and their everyday life. Also, they make sure that all the educational technology that they teach students, teachers and learners are as new and updated that they can show. If you would like them to come visit your school or home, all you have to is click on this link FutureLab. All of this happens, because it is sponsored and organized by FutureLab. I hope this shows you an easy way to improve the technology in the classroom.  I really like this website, because with all this information that I talked about, it doesn't limit the about of technology that they can teach you. If you really want to achieve a lot, technology is the way to go, and by doing that, setting up an appointment might just be the best way you can do that.
